On Wednesday the Nigerian Senate confirmed Mr. Lamido Yuguda general manager of the Nigerian capital market.
The confirmation followed a satisfactory report submitted to the Senate committee by the president of the Senate committee on capital markets.
The chairman of the committee, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, explained that the nominees appeared before their committee for their evaluation and that their profiles were considered satisfactory.
According to him, the Committee worked during the established period due to the unstable nature of the capital market and said that the gap should not be left due to the absence of the general manager.
The report said, “May the Senate receive and consider the capital market report on confirming the appointment of the following people for their appointment as General Manager and Commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission.”
The Senate also confirmed three nominated for commissioners, Mr. Reginald Karawusa (Imo), Mr. Ibrahim Boyi (Katsina) and Mr. Obisan Joseph (Lagos).
