Chibuike Amaechi, former governor of the state of Rivers, said that Igbo has no chance to hire President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

He said this was simply because the Southeast voted against Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.

According to the Transport Minister, people like him would have helped negotiate the Igbo presidency if they supported Buhari in recent polls.

Amaechi also told the Sun that the case of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar versus Buhari in the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal will amount to nothing.

According to him, “I was the first to do it [I promise the Igbo presidency] but I don’t know what the situation is now.

“I don’t know what they will do now to vote against the APC.” To refuse to support APC, they cannot come to the table to ask for the presidency’s turn.

“For people like us in the APC, if the Igbo came to vote for Buhari, they would have bravely told the president and the national president of the party that the presidency should go south-east from the south-south; The south-west and the northwest have produced the president.

“With what argument is the Southeast time to convince someone who deserves the position for President 2023?

On Atiku, he added: “I will not give you any other advice because everyone wants to crucify him on what I gave you before.” He had told him that it was not necessary to drag President Buhari to court.

“Which should allow him to do the remaining four years for the country’s interest, he’s already here with us since 2023. Some people thought it was a pointless advice and I stopped.”
