APC suspends Obaseki following Oshiomhole’s suspension

Another faction of the Edo state chapter of All Progressive Congress, APC, suspended the state governor, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shuaibu.

The APC leaders in the state also suspended the the state government secretary , Osarodion Ogie, for alleged anti-party activities.

His suspension was anounced by a party leader, Patrick Ikhariale, while reporting to journalists in the city of Benin

Recall that the party had previously suspended its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

The State Chairman Anselm Ojezua, who announced in a statement on Tuesday evening, said Oshiomhole’s suspension followed the no-confidence vote by APC Chairmen in the state 18 local government area (LGA).

Oshiomhole and his successor, Obaseki, have been in each other’s necks for a while.
