The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party in the 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, advised the court to dismiss President Muhammadu Buhari when he finally issued its decision on his request.
Latest Nigeria News reports that Atiku and his party have urged the court to establish the petition based on its merit rather than technicalities and to guarantee substantial justice.
This online news platform includes that Atiku and PDP claimed that President Buhari was not qualified to contest the elections and, as such, should be disqualified.

A report monitored on The Sun Newspaper by Naija News, quoted one of the senior lawyers in Atiku’s legal team, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), to have said that it was the expectation of his client “that the judiciary, as the last hope of the common man, will be dauntless in addressing the substance of the petition by the peoples’ candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the collective quest to retrieve a stolen mandate through the legal process.”
