The electoral tribunal for the 2019 presidential petitions will today issue its judgment on the Atiku Abubakar case challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the polls.
As previously reported by Naija News, security agents reinforced security at the Abuja Court of Appeals, the seat of the presidential election petition court.
Atiku, candidate of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) is challenging Buhari’s victory, as stated by the independent national electoral commission (INEC), the nation’s electoral arbitrator.
Security officers composed of men from the Nigerian police, the Nigerian Department of State Services and the Civil Protection and Security Corps carried out checks at both ends of the road leading to the court.
Similarly, even the big shots of both sides, the PDP and the APC came to court.
Naija News has obtained videos of some scenes outside the courtroom of Abuja, where the sentence is expected.
