The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat started treatment at the hospital in Medanta, India.
The duo arrived in India on Tuesday with their relatives, security agents and government officials.
Doctors said that El-Zakzaky suffers from about eight disorders, including glaucoma, symptoms of ischemic heart disease, which could lead to a myocardial infringement, a severe cervical spondylosis that caused, among other things, the compression of the roots nerve and insomnia. . He also deposited granules in his body from the 2015 battle with Zaria’s soldiers. These granules are said to cause lead poisoning in the blood.
The Medanta hospital was founded in 2009 by a heart surgeon, Dr. Naresh Trehan. It is a multi-specialty hospital dedicated to the treatment of advanced human diseases such as coronary heart disease, head and neck cancer, acute myeloid leukemia, epilepsy, hip fracture, Parkinson’s disease, refractive error, prostate cancer, kidney disease chronic, stroke, sepsis, liver cirrhosis, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, bronchial asthma, stomach cancer, chronic otitis media, among others.
El-Zakzaky, who has been detained since December 2015, is being tried for an unjust death and other crimes, all denied.
