The National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE has suspended its strike.
The strike began to call the attention of the federal government to the plight of its members.
According to the report, after a meeting with federal government officials, the union decided to suspend the one-day strike.
Comrade Joe Ajaero, national president of the NUEE, said that the agreement came after the outcome of the meeting in which workers’ complaints were addressed.
He explained, “We have concluded deliberations and all issues were addressed but we are awaiting implementation. Meanwhile, our strike action is suspended.”
The strike was embarked upon following the expiration of the 21-day ultimatum issued by NUEE to the Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to implement their demands.
