Gunmen kidnap Kogi Miners’ chairman

Armed men abducted the Chairman of the Kogi State Mining Association, Yunusa Oruma, from his residence in the state’s Ankpa LGA.

Brother of the victim, Prince Oruma told the Daily Trust on Wednesday that his brother was relaxing at home when the number eight armed men invaded the place at around 8 pm on Sunday and started shooting sporadically.

He said the gunmen in the process captured his brother and left with him, adding that no information had been heard after the incident.

He said the incident was reported to the police and other security agencies in Ankpa, asking for concerted efforts to ensure the release of the victim.

Command spokesman Kogi William Aya, who confirmed the incident, said his men are working to save the victim.
