Gunmen murder Majority Leader in Delta

On Tuesday evening, gunmen shot dead the majority leader of the local government council of Sapele, Chief Venture Kagbude, along the popular Effurun-Warri / Sapele road in Delta state.

Latest Nigeria News has deduced that the armed men attacked the deceased who was in his car and returned to Sapele and opened fire and made sure he died before they left the scene before the police arrived.

The accident caused serious tensions in the area while the residents fled for security reasons, can report Latestalert.

The remains of the deceased, who is also the Chairman of the community of Okirigwe in Sapele, were deposited at the morgue.

The Sapele Council Chairman, the Hon. Eugene Inoaghan was not reached for comment on the matter at the time of submitting this report.

However, Delta CP state commissioner Adeyinka Adeleke, in a telephone conversation with our Warri correspondent, confirmed the report.

CP Adeleke said, “the incident happened last night.”
