The former national chairman f the All Progressive Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, described the rift between Governor Godwin Obaseki of the state Edo and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, as ridiculous.
Oyegun, who is also a former governor of the state of Edo, expressed concern as he talked to journalists about his birthday in Benin.
The former APC president said that no one can trace the cause of the dispute between Obaseki and Oshiomole
Oyegun expressed regret that the dispute challenged all the recipes.
The former president of the late Party of All Nations of Nigeria (ANPP) said that the state went beyond this enmity.
“All of us are dancing round the crisis, but we do not know what started the conflict between two friends,” he said.
“But for me, I listen to the people who said he is performing. Please, let him continue if the people feel he is doing well.
“Quite frankly, what is going on is ridiculous. We are beyond this kind. I am ashamed. Our people have contributed so much to the stability of the State.
“It is unfortunate that Edo State has been in the news for the very wrong reasons, apart from abusing ourselves, you (media) owe the nation a great commitment towards making sure that the truth prevails.”
