The governor of Taraba state, Darius Ishaku, denied any connection with the famous kidnapping leader, Hamisu Bala, better known as Wadume.
The governor also denied giving Wadume six million nairas in preparation for the 2019 government elections in the state.

However, Governor Ishaku in a statement by his special media and advertising consultant, Bala Dan-Abu, says he was never involved in the duplicity of Wadume or gave him money.
He also asked the general public to ignore Wadume’s confessions about the alleged fraudster and to see them only as the eruption of a drowned criminal.
Ishaku also took the opportunity to congratulate the security agencies for quickly arresting Wadume, who is at the center of a recent confrontation between the Nigerian army and the Nigerian police after an operation that went wrong and which caused the death. of three policemen and another civilian. in Ibi, in the state of Taraba earlier this month.
He also asked security agents to smoke the accomplices of Wadume and other criminal gangs in the state of Taraba and take them to book.
