Naira Marley was tried before a federal court of first instance in Lagos for alleged fraud.
On Monday 20 May 2019, the men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission took the singer to court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
He appeared in the field wearing a white shirt and a pair of jeans. However, his lawyer was absent from the court.
Naira Marley is declared “not guilty” and will be held in custody of the EFCC until May 30th.
After the charges were read to him in the presence of Judge Nicholas Oweibo, he pleaded not guilty. .
Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, pleaded not guilty to the charge of 11 charges imposed by the Commission for economic and financial crimes. .

Until then, Naira Marley will be in the custody of the EFCC.
