Kidnapped Appeal Court Judge finally regains freedom

Judge Chioma Nwosu-Iheme, of the Benin division of the Court of Appeal, regained her freedom.

Judge Nwosu was abducted on October 30, around 11:30 am, along the Benin-Agbor highway, from Christ Chosen Church of God International, as she headed to Owerri, Imo state, to see her husband.

Danmallam Mohammed, Edo police commissioner, confirmed that the judge was rescued by the kidnappers and met with his family.

We recall that the kidnapping of Judge Chioma Nwosu-Iheme caused a public protest by various sectors and the NBA branch in Benin boycotted the courts for three days as a way to protest his abduction. He regained his freedom after spending two weeks in his captors’ lair.
