Omede Idris Declares Intention To Run
The former president of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA, for his acronym in English), Dr. Omede Idris, declared his intention to challenge Governor Yahaya Bello in the election for governor of Kogi.
Idris, who is competing for office on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has promised to improve the state’s lot.
In a statement signed personally on Wednesday, the former state health commissioner said that if you give him the mandate, the agenda will focus on economic growth, social inclusion, environmental protection, peace and security.
Idris revealed his plan to modernize the Kogi economy through state-supported energy generation from renewable energies and human resource development.
He said he would use the opportunity provided by the proximity of Kogi FCT, and be the link with the northern and southern regions of the country, to give the economy and infrastructure the desired momentum.
