The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, will leave today, Friday, the shores of Nigeria for Benin Republic.
Latest Nigeria News reports that the vice president will travel to Niger to represent President Muhammadu Buhari in an extraordinary Ecowas summit.
The extraordinary summit according to the information made available by Mr. Laolu Akande, spokesman for the vice president, is conducting a review of the current situation in Guinea Bissau.
Professor Osinbajo should return to the country later today.
“VP Osinbajo to represent President Buhari today in Niger where an Extraordinary ECOWAS summit is holding to review the ongoing situation in Guinea Bissau. He will depart Abuja this morning and return later today,” Mr. Akande tweeted.
President Buhari is currently in London for a private visit and he is not expected back in the country until November 17.
