Police Inspector investigating Wadume dies



A police inspector working with the Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT) was confirmed dead in a car accident that occurred in the state of Ibi Taraba.

Four other police officers and five suspects arrested were also reported injured in the incident at around 6:00 pm on Monday, September 2nd.

Latest Nigeria News includes the incident that occurred on the Wukari highway, which occurred when police officers carried suspects arrested to command the Wukari police area.

The incident was said to have occurred a few miles from where three policemen were killed by soldiers who allegedly released Taraba, kidnapping Hamisu Bala Wadume.

Additional information collected on the incident revealed that police officers involved in the incident were assigned to the DCP team Abba Kyari and were left behind to conduct further investigations into the alleged murder of three police officers and a civilian by soldiers in Ibbi, State of Taraba.

It was inferred that the eight-man operation group was traveling on a white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number (Abuja) BP222RSH, and was led by assistant police superintendent (ASP) James Bawa.

They had arrested the suspects and were heading to Wukari when they were involved in the only incident. The wounded were evacuated to a general hospital in the treatment area.

When contacted, Force DCP spokesman Frank Mba confirmed the incident but stated that he had not received the details.
