The vice president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, presided over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Latest Nigeria News has learned that the meeting started around 11 with the recitation of the national anthem.
The opening prayer was offered by a Muslim, Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, while Christian prayer was delivered by Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah.
Apart from the ministers, other members of the cabinet in the hall included the secretary to the Government of the Federation represented by Dr. Habiba Lawal, the chief of staff to the President, Abba Kyari, and the head of the federation’s civil service, Folasade Yemi-Esan.
President Muhammadu Buhari left Nigeria on Monday to attend a three-day Russia-Africa summit in Sochi, Russia.
The FEC meeting was still ongoing at the time of the presentation of this report.
