The president of the Nigerian senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, inaugurated the Senate legislative agenda commission on Wednesday, asking them to present a program that responds to the wishes of the Nigerians.
Lawan said the 9th Senate is ready to work for Nigerians with experienced professionals who are in the Senate.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the ninth senate goes well with experts from different backgrounds and it could be seen in today’s debate.”
He promised to be available if his attention was needed during the drafting of legislative activities for the Senate.
The chairman of the committee, Senator Adamu Aliero, has promised that the commission will work hard considering the plight of Nigerians to address their persistent problems.
The Kebbi legislator said the upper house will focus on laws that will address poverty among Nigerians.
The ad hoc committee of 13 people was created on Tuesday with the mandate to present the report in two weeks.
