SexForMarks: Senate proposes 5yrs jail term for culprits in schools



The Nigerian Senate has proposed a five-year prison sentence for all sexual predators in all Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Latest Nigeria News understands that the legislator has revised the bill on sexual harassment after the recent disclosure of BBC sex revelations scandals that accused two professors of the University of Lagos.

According to the bill, a teacher or facilitator will be “guilty of committing a sexual harassment crime against a student if he/she has sex with a student under the age of 18.

Latestalert recalls that the eighth Senate Assembly approved the “Draft Law on Prohibition of Sexual Harassment in Tertiary Education Institutions” to prescribe a 5-year prison sentence for any teacher, educator or person in authority in any institution Tertiary in Nigeria sentenced.
