Some angry mobs attacked South African brands in an attempt to retaliate following recent xenophobic attacks against Nigeria in South Africa.
Gbolaham Olugbemi, commander of the Shangotedo area, reported that a total of 125 suspects were arrested in connection with the attack on Shoprite with 90% of the stolen property recovered.
According to the police, 112 of the 125 arrested were found in possession of stolen objects and were indicted in court.
The looting of the ShopRite outlets in some important places in Lagos and the government condemned it as a very criminal action.
