The Sokoto State Election Petition Court, located in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, confirmed the election of Governor Aminu Tambuwal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition party in Nigeria.
Latest Nigeria News reports that the Sokoto State Election Petition Court issued a final ruling on the election of Sokoto statet governor on Wednesday 2 October.
This online news platform includes that the court rejected the petition filed by Ahmed Aliyu and the All Progressive Congress (APC), the ruling party of Nigeria, challenging Governor Tambuwal’s statement as the winner of the election for the ninth governor in March 9 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The court led by Abbas Bawale, who initially rejected the preliminary objections presented by the PDP and Tambuwal, urging him to reject the petition for lack of merit, generally maintained that the defendant’s request lacked merit and constituted an hour of judicial waste .
