The three-man panel of the Petition Court of the Interior, seated in Umuahia, the capital of the state of Abia, and chaired by judge AL Ogumoye, rejected the petition presented by APGA’s 2019 governor candidate, Dr Alex Otti against the governor’s statement Okezie Ikpeazu.
The court ruled that the petitioner could not prove the case of overvaluation, violation of the electoral directive and the INEC electoral act.
Remember that Alex Otti had asked the court to cancel fifteen election results of the seventeen areas of local government in the state of Abia.
Otti said that respondents, PDP and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who was the candidate for governor of the PDP, committed excessive negligence in such LGAs in the state’s latest March 9, 2019 elections.
