The committee headed by Jasper Ndubuaku, set up to recover the looted properties of the Imo State, has made great progress in the assignment given to him.
The committee that acted in a notice discovered a huge warehouse on Friday afternoon.
The warehouse, located along Aba Road, presumably belongs to Nkechi, wife of the former governor, Rochas Okorocha.
According to reports, action was needed to prevent young people from burning the entire warehouse.
The discovery of the warehouse follows the closure of a property that apparently is owned by Nkechi, located in the Akachi area of Owerri, the state capital.
The condos and bungalows were presumably built with state funds and the product of corruption.
Remember that the EFCC confirmed on Wednesday the confiscation of assets and property related to Okorocha, his wife, his daughter and his associates, including his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, who served as chief of staff.
A statement by its spokesman, Tony Orilade said “the marking of the properties which is a fall-out of our painstaking investigation, is as a result of the failure of the suspects to honour the Commission’s invitation for questioning on the propriety of their acquisition”.
