What happened at Tribunal on Wednesday against the election of Gov. Umahi

The election Petition Tribunal in Ebonyi released Wednesday the petition presented by the Congress of all progressives, APC, and its candidate for governor, Sonni Ogbuoji, against the election of Governor David Umahi.

The court’s decision followed the motion to withdraw the petition from Ogbuoji’s lawyer, Michael Odo, on Wednesday’s hearing.

Governor Umahi’s lawyer, Okechukwu Otukwu, did not oppose the motion.

Furthermore, the Popular Democratic Party, the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, did not object to the proposal.

The court presided by Judge A. Abdulkarim has gone ahead to eliminate the petition.

He also granted a cost of N100,000 to the first defendant.

It will be remembered that Ogbuoji lost the governor’s election on March 9 to the serving governor, David Umahi of the Popular Democratic Party, PDP.

The governor obtained a total of 393,343 votes cast in the 13 state local governments.

Ogbuoji of the All Progressive Congress (APC) obtained a total of 81703 votes cast to place a second away.
